Business Name: Grorilla Physiques
Owner: Riley Grocott
Industry: Online Coaching / Personal Training
Location: Canberra
Who They Help: Men and women looking to improve their physique, from general fitness to bodybuilding
Riley Grocott, founder of Grorilla Physiques, has built a personalised online coaching business helping men and women improve their physique, whether that means losing weight, gaining muscle, or working towards bodybuilding goals.
Based in Canberra but operating fully online, Riley works closely with clients to tailor training, nutrition, and lifestyle strategies to their individual needs. What makes his approach stand out is the balance he’s found between performance-focused coaching and real-world flexibility — something that’s shaped both how the business has grown and how clients experience it.
Grorilla Physiques began as a side project alongside Riley’s career in plumbing. After years in a physically demanding trade, balancing long workdays with bodybuilding training became increasingly difficult. What started as helping friends with training programs gradually evolved into a structured online coaching business.
As more people began reaching out, Riley made a deliberate shift to build something more sustainable. Moving online removed the constraints of gym rent and limited face-to-face hours, allowing him to work with more clients while maintaining flexibility in his own training and lifestyle.
“I stopped building my life around work and built a business that worked around my life.”
Today, the business focuses on personalised coaching rather than one-size-fits-all programs. Each client receives tailored guidance across training, nutrition, and supplements, with options ranging from structured meal plans to more flexible approaches depending on their preferences.
At its core, Grorilla Physiques is built on applying the same methods Riley uses in his own bodybuilding journey, adapted to suit the everyday realities of his clients.
What do you do and who do you help?
I run an online coaching business focused on personalised training programs. I work with both men and women, whether they want to lose weight, gain muscle, or work towards bodybuilding goals.
What’s something you’re really proud of?
Seeing clients get results from what I teach. When people follow the program and it actually works for them, it’s rewarding because it shows that what I’m doing is effective.
What decision made the biggest difference?
Using social media. I wasn’t big on it at first, but once I started posting consistently, it made a big difference in reaching more people.
What are you working on improving right now?
Finding the right balance between the number of clients I have and the level of service I provide. I don’t want to grow too quickly and lose quality.
Why did you start the business?
I was a plumber for six or seven years, and it was hard to balance that kind of physical work with bodybuilding. I started helping mates with programs, then decided to build it out properly once I saw there was demand.
What was the hardest part early on?
Setting up systems to track everything properly. You need the right tools and structure, but you also need enough clients to justify the cost of those systems.
What’s become more complicated as the business has grown?
Keeping clients accountable. You want to help them improve, but also balance that with being realistic about their lifestyle. Finding that middle ground took time.
Where do you see the business going?
Ideally, continuing with clients who get value from the service. I like the idea of helping people reach a point where they can manage things themselves.
What stands out here is the deliberate decision to prioritise quality over scale. Many service-based businesses reach a point where demand could push rapid growth, but maintaining a level of personal input becomes the constraint. This is a transition many Canberra business owners navigate as they move from proving demand to deciding how they actually want the business to operate long term.

Canberra Business Accelerators helps growth-focused business owners build profitable, scalable and self-sustaining businesses. We work with established Canberra businesses turning over $1M+ and employing from small to large teams. Our clients are ambitious but often stretched too thin, juggling staff challenges, inconsistent systems, patchy marketing and thin margins. Through practical coaching, tailored strategy and hands-on tools, we help owners take control of their time, team and bottom line. Our programs include one-to-one coaching, business planning days, team development workshops and leadership support designed to get real-world results. We specialise in helping business owners to strengthen their leadership team, improve profitability and cash flow, systemise operations for consistent delivery and attract better clients with smarter marketing. Unlike generic business coaches, we’re based locally and work directly with owners and their teams to implement strategies that stick. Our goal is to help you build a business that works for you, not the other way around.
